CHICAGO SCA INTERGROUP – October 2, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm by Chair with a moment of silence and Serenity prayer. Mitchell then read the statement of purpose.
CHAIR REPORTS
Secretary: Minutes from Sept 11th mtg were accepted.
Treasurer: Spreadsheet was forwarded to John; bills are being paid. All groups should hand in their ISO contribution envelopes.
Literature: Ted reported that chips have arrived. Still waiting for books that were ordered. Inventory of “Moving thru withdrawal”.
Social: No one signed up for Hiking. Mike will host Oct 22nd Social after Day of Recovery (he will prepare Chili; bring own refreshments). Sat Dec 10th – Holiday Social at Bob E.’s
Outreach: Jeff reported that Newsletter is out. No action yet on placing ads in Gay Chicago.
ISO Online Mtg Report - Mike gave a summary: New person will take over Literature distribution position. Some discussion was held on SCA Recovery book and prison outreach. Question was raised: Who should pay for printing of the SCAanner? ISO or local groups? Complete minutes are available on website.
OLD BUSINESS
Update on Day of Recovery: Jarvis and Ken updated Inter- group on final details: will check out room space at Unity; list of nearby restaurants. Map will be provided. Finalize Drew’s travel plans and gift. Mitchell and David have worked on recruiting members to lead breakout groups; still need to fill a few more. Bob is coordinating food: PLEASE ASK MEMBERS AT MTGS TO MAKE COMMITMENT TO BRING SOMETHING: fruit, coffee cake, juice, cups, bake something, etc.
Workshop evaluation is attached to agenda.
2006 ISO Mtg: Joe reported that they will finalize site in October and reviewed Schedule for ISO gathering. Need to prepare a Budget. Todd and Bob have volunteered to coordinate Social. Peter = billeting. Four ISO positions will be filled during that meeting.
Financial Help for Socials: policy has been that they generally should self-supporting. No immediate change foreseen. Socials held in someone’s home are the more popular ones.
NEW BUSINESS
Mitchell offered to host Dec. Intergroup Mtg in his home. It would be a Potluck. It would be Open to all members.
The meeting was closed at 6:25pm with a moment of silence and Serenity prayer. Next mtg will be Sunday Nov 6th at 5:30pm at Berry United Methodist. |
